Bloomberg is reporting that Amazon is looking to possibly open up to 3,000 grocery stores by 2021. Currently, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is working on the best presentation for the stores. Currently, there are three Amazon To-Go stores, two in Seattle and one in Chicago. The stores will focus on to-go food and meal kits that can easily be prepared at home. The current stores have turnstiles that can be accessed by using an Amazon login and a cashier-less paying station. At an event last week Bezos said he was ‘very interested in opening brick and mortar stores only if they have something new to bring to the marketplace.”
What do you think of Amazon To-Go stores? Would this be helpful or is the lack of person to person contact no appealing?
