Taco Fest kicks off its first year in Marshall
Live music, tacos and more!
Marshall, TX – Boasting the slogan, “Everybody loves Tacos,” the inaugural East Texas Taco Fest, presented by Patterson Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Patterson Toyota, will salsa into historic downtown Marshall from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 23. The event is hosted by The Marshall News Messenger.
The East Texas Taco Fest celebrates the growing and diverse population of Marshall as well as provides a culturally relevant and engaging event for local families and visitors.
The day will be filled with all-day music and entertainment from bands hailing from Longview, Gilmer and Fort Worth as well as the colorful competition and performances by Lucha Libre ‘Mexican wrestlers’ from Main Event Pro Wrestling. The Jalapeno eating contest will clearly add spice to the day.
Patterson Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Patterson Toyota will also sponsor a day-long car show, featuring late model cars, low riders, street stock and antique hot rods.
Other featured events will include a washer tournament and a Chihuahua race for Chihuahua and Chihuahua mixes. For the kids, the Taco Fest will offer a Kid’s Zone featuring face painting, games and arts and crafts.
In addition to a multitude of food and merchandise vendors, a margarita mixology contest will allow guests to vote for their favorite margaritas made by local bars and restaurants.
Advance tickets are on sale now until June 1 for $10 each, kids 12 & under free at Eventbrite.com. Tickets will cost $15 at the gate. VIP tickets, which will allow access to the private tent and special concert seating, are $40.
